Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Edge Note is a browser extension for recording meeting audio, creating transcripts, identifying speakers and saving meeting notes. This policy explains how the extension handles data.
Audio and transcripts
Edge Note captures browser-tab audio and microphone audio only after you start a recording. Speech recognition, speaker identification and meeting insights run locally on your device. Audio, transcripts and insights are not uploaded to our model server.
Information stored on your device
Meeting transcripts, speaker names, insights and completed recordings are stored in extension-owned browser storage. Settings and temporary processing state are also stored in your browser. This information remains until you delete it, clear the extension's data or uninstall the extension. Files you export remain wherever you save them.
Model downloads
The extension downloads speech and insights model data from edge-note.arodos.com and stores it locally. These requests may expose standard connection information, such as an IP address, browser request headers and request time, to our hosting provider. Model requests do not contain your audio, transcript or meeting notes.
Clipboard and downloads
Clipboard access occurs only when you use a copy or paste button in the extension. Edge Note does not continuously monitor the clipboard. Download access is used only when you choose to export a transcript or recording.
Sharing, analytics and advertising
Edge Note does not sell personal information and does not include advertising or analytics.
Your choices
You control when recording starts and stops, whether microphone access is allowed, whether local insights are enabled and when content is copied, pasted, downloaded or deleted. Record meetings only when you have permission from all applicable participants.
Policy updates and contact
This policy may be updated when Edge Note's data practices change. For privacy questions, use the support contact published on the Edge Note Chrome Web Store listing.
